Workshop Heritage Since 1987
Comprvicit began as a two-person atelier on the Kiel Förde waterfront, specialising in hand-fitted cabinetry for historic Altstadt apartments. Our founders trained under Schleswig-Holstein master carpenters who insisted that every dovetail be cut by hand until the joint spoke for itself.
Today we employ eleven craftspeople across three disciplines: casework, stair building, and site joinery. We remain committed to small-batch production where each commission receives direct oversight from a senior maker rather than anonymous factory lines.
What We Build
Our portfolio spans fitted wardrobes for Altbau flats with uneven walls, floating staircases in new-build villas, and commercial reception desks for law firms along Holstenstraße. Every project starts with measured surveys using laser levels and traditional story poles where plaster tolerances demand it.
We do not sell flat-pack solutions or import pre-manufactured carcasses. Each carcass, drawer box, and panel is produced in our 420-square-metre workshop on Bahnhofstraße, then finished on-site by the same team that cut the timber.
Timber Philosophy
We source European oak, ash, and walnut from FSC-certified suppliers in Lower Saxony and Bavaria. For clients requiring local provenance, we also work with storm-felled beech from Schleswig-Holstein forestry cooperatives, seasoning boards in our own kiln for a minimum of eighteen months.
Surface treatments favour hardwax oils and water-based lacquers that allow timber to breathe in the damp Baltic climate. We advise against high-gloss polyurethane in coastal properties where seasonal humidity swings can telegraph through rigid films.
Commission Process
Initial consultations take place at your property or our showroom, where we review architectural drawings and discuss how joinery should integrate with existing mouldings, floor levels, and heating placement. A detailed quotation follows within ten working days, itemising materials, labour hours, and installation sequencing.
Typical lead times range from eight to fourteen weeks depending on species availability and carving complexity. We schedule installation in phases to minimise disruption, often completing bedroom wardrobes before addressing kitchen runs in a second visit.
Service Area
While based in Kiel, we regularly deliver and install throughout Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg's northern suburbs, and Lübeck. Projects beyond a 120-kilometre radius are evaluated individually, with lodging costs disclosed upfront in the quotation.
For architects and interior designers, we offer specification support including CAD submittals, sample panels, and mock-up sections at our workshop by appointment.
